3D Printed Sculpture, “Hand-sculpted in Virtual Reality”

‘eternal’ is a study in duality – permanence and impermanence, digital and physical, art and function. Hand-sculpted in virtual reality and brought to life through 3D printing, each form exists as a mirror to the other – two halves magnetically reconnecting into one continuous whole.

Rendered in a matte ‘chalk white’ finish, the work captures a sense of weight and stillness while holding traces of its digital origin – soft, fluid lines frozen in suspended animation.

Conceived during a period marked by personal transformation, ‘eternal ‘ reflects the fleeting nature of experiences that can feel unending in the moment – a reminder that change, like form, is always in motion.

Produced in collaboration with Solid State Design, each piece is 3D printed with an interlocking magnetic mechanism connecting the two halves; a sculptural piece where form meets function.

• Option to display as one piece or split in two – interlocking magnet mechanism to connect two halves as one sculpture

• When separated, the two halves can hold up light books as bookends or beautifully frame heavier books that are freestanding. As the base of each half is magnetic, when placed on a metal shelf, the sculpture can hold additional weight for heavier books
